Foxborough, Mass. -- The Chiefs scored 23 unanswered points against the New England Patriots and held on for a 23-16 victory, clinching their fourth-consecutive AFC West championship.
The Patriots ended a 21-game home winning streak, which was tied for the longest in team history.
Patrick Mahomes connected on his 40 passes to finish with 283 yards, a touchdown and one interception.
Both teams made numerous mistakes in the game. The officiating crew made questionable calls, which frustrated the Patriots, their coaches and their fans.
