Liberty, MO - A Clay County woman was charged Tuesday with murder and other counts in the deaths of her two daughters after falling asleep in her vehicle in the summer of 2018.

Jenna Boedecker, 30, was indicted on two counts of second-degree murder, four counts of child endangerment, one count of third-degree domestic assault, one count of armed criminal action and one count of first-degree property damage in Clay County Circuit Court.

According to the charging documents, Boedecker caused the deaths of Goodknight Beretta June Ribando, an infant, and 2-year-old Ireland Autumn Jane Ribando.

Court documents said the girls were killed by hyperthermia after being left in a hot automobile with inadequate care on the Fourth of July.

The charges also said Boedecker knowingly acted in a manner that created a substantial risk to the life and health of the girls after they were placed in the automobile during hot daylight weather.

Court documents say on July 3, the night before her daughters were found dead, Jenna Boedecker threw a brick at her husband's truck, then crashed into it with her Jeep after an argument.

Boedecker remains in custody on a $500,000 bond.
