Kansas City, MO - The freezing temperatures are bound to cause issues with moisture settling into places like doors, mirrors and your door locks. Phil Link with AAA says there's a few simple tricks using products around the house.

He says if you spray WD-40 into your lock cylinders, it well help repel the water and lubricate the system.

Putting cooking spray on the seals of your doors can also help prevent them from freezing shut. Also, securing grocery sacks over your side mirrors can keep them clear in the morning and prevent moisture from getting inside.

Link warns, the major hazard when it comes to cold weather is your car battery. He says the average battery lasts three to four years, and it's borrowed time after that. He suggests checking your cables and connections to be sure they're clean and tight.
