One of the co-founders of Olathe-based Garmin International has passed away.
The GPS navigation company announced Thursday that Gary Burrell died on Wednesday. He was 81.
Burrell, who earned a bachelor's in electrical engineering at Wichita State University, would co-found Garmin with Dr. Min Kao in 1989. The company says among all of his accomplishments, Burrell was most proud of the jobs he created.
"It has been both a great privilege and a blessing to have known this amazing man and I know his legacy will live on," Kao said in a release.
