For germaphobes, the pandemic is just another day fighting off germs: "I already do this stuff"

Kansas City, MO - Even before we were living in a pandemic, Kylee McAlister took germs seriously.  Maybe too seriously, to those who would poke fun and snicker about her need for cleanliness.

Now, she doesn’t exactly call herself a 'germaphobe' but... her daily routine revolves around keeping germs away.

While stay-at-home orders, facemasks and social distancing in this era of coronavirus may be new to many of us, McAlister says she hasn’t really altered her routine too much.

"I think I feel more calm than others because I already do this stuff," says McAlister.  She say she feels her 'need' to clean and sanitize everything around her is giving her an edge.

She hasn't changed her daily routine much as she already used wipes and would regularly sanitize her hands.

One added change though is how she brings groceries into her home.  She doesn't allow help anymore.

"I bring them in myself and I put them on the floor," she says. "Then I take them out of the bags and clean them, then put them on the table.”

And to those who have laughed at her and other 'germaphobes' for incessantly cleaning the germ-filled world around us, she asks... who’s laughing now?
