INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- A Jackson County sheriff's deputy shot and killed a man Thursday evening in Independence.
Deputies were trying to arrest the man, who was wanted on multiple felony warrants. The shooting was reported at 6:51 p.m. said Independence Police Officer John Syme.
The deputy shot the man outside a home near 25th Street and Hawthorne Avenue, Syme said. Details were not immediately released about the incident.
A second person was taken to a hospital with undescribed injuries. No officers were hurt.
