
Kansas City voters Tuesday are deciding whether to enact a 3/8 cent sales tax to fund a pre-kindergarten program that has been promoted heavily by Mayor Sly James.
Voters will also narrow the list of mayoral candidates to two. Those candidates are, as listed on the ballot:
Scott Taylor, Alissia Canady, Quinton Lucas, Steve Miller, Scott Wagner, Philip "Phil" Glynn, Vincent Lee, Jolie Justus, Jermaine Reed, Henry Klein and Clay Chastain.
The remaining candidates will face each other in a runoff election August 6.
There are also several seats up for grabs for Kansas City Council and on local school boards.
