The University of Kansas is among six institutions that could soon face allegations of infractions from the NCAA.
The NCAA is preparing a Notice of Allegations for the KU men's basketball program that contains "multiple major violations," the Kansas City Star reported. The collegiate governing body has been investigating college basketball corruption for alleged pay-for-play arrangements for blue chip recruits.
In June, ESPN reported the NCAA expected at least six Division I men's basketball progrms would receive notices of allegations for Level I violations, the most serious infractions under NCAA rules.
Assistant coaches at four schools have pleaded guilty to accepting bribes to influence players to sign with a sports agency. Those schools are Arizona, Auburn, Oklahoma State and Southern Cal.
Evidence was presented or testimony was heard at two federal trials in New York about coaches at other schools, including Kansas, Creighton, Louisville, NC State and Oregon.
