May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.
George Tart, program coordinator of the Missouri Motorcycle Safety Program, says all riders should refresh their riding skills, and take a safety course at least every other year.
And before rolling out on the open road, Tart suggests you check the bike first - tire pressure, fluids, gauges, etc. Then go on a test run in a big parking lot - testing reflexes, getting familiar with the bike after a long winter.
