KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City is now the home to the national champion 8-ball billiards team, a title earned by K-9 in Las Vegas last weekend.
Kara Ridihalgh-Allen is on the team, and told KMBZ fun nights playing pool with friends turned into something much bigger.
"We started our team three years ago, and just kind of did it at the time to get a team together and start playing. I had never played before in my life," Kara said.
Kara and her teammates won a trophy, individual plaques and $25,000 bucks as the top prize at the competition, which featured more than 700 teams from across the nation.
