Overland Park, KS - Earlier this week, a surveillance camera captured a rear-end crash on Metcalf Ave. at W. 77th Street.
The video captures traffic slowing and a car running into the back and under the car in front.
Overland Park police shared the video to drive home the message about being distracted while driving.
I know when there's adverse conditions such as ice on the roadway or snow, we get that," says Lacy. "But if you are running through a red light you're not paying attention. Run a stop sign and 't-bone' another vehicle... that's not paying attention. We see people on their cell phones, an epidemic almost."
Officer John Lacy says 70% of the crashes in town are caused by distracted drivers.
