KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Jackson County is inching closer to replacing its troubled jail.
Architects tell county legislators the new facility could be completed by 2024, at a price of $270 million.
JCDC Partners was hired to handle the first phase of the planning, according to our reporting partners at KMBC Channel 9 News. The location of the new jail has not been determined. The old one is 30 years old.
Planning for the new detention center is set to cost almost $9 million.
