Kansas City Royals owner David Glass is negotiating a sale of the baseball team to a potential owner with local ties, according to a report from TheAthletic.com.
Glass is reportedly considering a sale to Kansas City native John Sherman, the vice chairman of the Cleveland Indians.
Owning the Royals has been good for Glass's bottom line. He purchased the team in 2000 for $96 million. The team's value is now estimated at $1 billion, according to Forbes.
The team is not making any formal statements on a potential sale.
Major League Baseball owners would have to sign off on any sale agreement.
