KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Three people were killed in separate shootings over a 12-hour period Saturday and Sunday in Kansas City.
The first incident was reported when police officers went to a home and found a man dead. The shooting in the 5700 block of appeared to have stemmed from an argument between two men. A suspect was picked up a couple of blocks from the site of the shooting.
The second shooting was early Sunday outside a nightclub near 87th and Troost. Officers found a man and woman shot inside a vehicle. The man died at the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital where she was in stable condition.
The third shooting was reported around 9:15 a.m. Sunday in the 6400 block of East 12th Street. Officers found a woman who was shot to death. There was not word on a suspect in that homicide.
The weekend killings bring the city's total of homicides in 2019 to 19.
