The massive snowstorm that blew through Kansas and Missouri Friday and Saturday left behind a band of fallen tree limbs and utility lines.
Kansas City Power & Light reported more than 47,000 customers without electricity as of early Monday morning.
More than eight inches of snow fell on parts of the Kansas City area. Snow totals were much higher to the east, with about 19 inches reported at Mexico, a small town about 20 miles northeast of Columbia.
