2021 ACM Awards: Blanco Brown is ready to walk the red carpet after nearly losing his life last year

Only eight months after nearly losing his life a head-on vehicle collision near his home in Atlanta, trailer-trap artist Blanco Brown is readying for his first major appearance since the accident and subsequent surgeries as a presenter at Sunday’s ACM Awards. Audacy’s Katie Neal caught up with him ahead of the event.

“I’m just blessed to be here,” expressed the “Git Up” singer. “I still have some issues, I’m rehabilitating still, I’m just blessed to not be in excruciating pain every day.”

Brown went on to admit that while it has been a tough year, the award show appearance and his recent #1 song, “Just The Way,” with Parmalee have been a welcomed “gold lining,” that have brightened his days as he continues to recover.

Blanco has never been shy to stand out from the crowd with his unique style and incredible creative energy. He revealed in his time with Neal that his creativity will on be on full display at the Awards show on Sunday, especially when it comes to his red carpet look.

“I got something’ special,” Brown told Neal. “There may be another big bag in route.” He admitted, eluding to the large messenger bag he sported at the 2019 CMA Awards that nearly broke the internet.

Regardless of what Blanco decides to sport, his fellow Country artists will be excited to see him and celebrate how far he’s come in his recovery. When asked who he is most excited to see, Blanco shared he’s kept in touch with “his people” and is excited to see familiar faces as well as meet new ones.
