Calling in from three different locations, Hillary Scott explained the performance will be taking place outside, “with the Nashville skyline behind us, right on the Cumberland River.” Adding, “it’s gonna be just high energy and fun,” also divulging, “we made Charles pick between playing acoustic guitar or choreography, and so he chose the guitar,” she said jokingly.

Charles chimed in saying “I said I need something masculine to do when I’m singing 'I, I I feel like, I feel like a lady.'” And after a bit of joking around, made sure to follow up asserting, “I have no qualms singing that, I mean you know we all have a lot of strong women, Dave and I both, in our lives. And Hilary is such a strong female, and I think it’s a great message, and also its just a jam, I don’t care if you’re a dude it just feels good, it’s a good feelin’ song.”

Next Dave Haywood shared that despite the band’s numerous awards and accomplishments, his kid recently put him in check. When discussing the upcoming ACMs, telling his son he’s gonna be on TV, the six-year old’s response was “Daddy, doesn’t Taylor Swift have a lot more awards than you,” to which Dave admitted to not even trying to deny.

With the bands nomination this year, Lady A is one step closer to catching up to Swift. Not to mention Hillary’s solo nom for Music Event of The Year for Thomas Rhett’s “Be A Light,” also featuring Chris TomlinReba McEntire, and Keith Urban, which Scott expressed she was beyond proud to be a part of.

"I was honored to be invited to that party, I mean with that line of artists, who are some of my favorites in the whole wide world… And the message of that song, you know over this last year especially, just how timely and important it is. Helping us remember how we should live and what to focus on, so I’m very very honored.”

Also up for discussion, is the set up of this year's show, similar to last year, there are multiple locations, however as last year's was entirely virtual, the upcoming award show will have certain in person aspects, just as the GRAMMYs did earlier this year.

With award shows taking a turn in that direction, Dave noted, that the band too is starting to have conversations about mapping out travel dates, “hoping to possibly be on the road this Fall. Being as optimistic as we can, we’re getting everything in place, and if we get the green light we’ll be ready to go, if not we’ll pivot,” which he admitted they’re used to doing by now.
