Sam Hunt is headlining RADIO.COM's Stars and Strings in New York this Wednesday, capping off a night of amazing artists coming together at Barclays Center. Dustin Lynch, Blanco Brown, Chris Janson and more will take the stage alongside the "Body Like A Back Road" singer for the perfect party to warm up even the coldest NYC evening.
It's been 5 years since Hunt helped change the game with his bold brand of Country, dropping his debut in 2014. Now Sam is back in album mode, with something expected in 2020. We've already got the first sample, the strong and sentimental "Kinfolks" released earlier this year.
The new single is just one of the songs we hope to hear when Hunt takes the stage. As a reminder before the sophomore LP arrives and before the big set at Stars and Strings, here are a few of our favorites from Sam Hunt.
1."Leave The Night On"
The first song from Hunt that really grabbed our attention, mixing his Hip Hop influence with his fresh and bright voice, Sam sparked something and landed at number one on the Country chart for the first time.
2."Take Your Time"
Literally talking us through an encounter, balancing charm and not coming on too strong as the melody escalates, "Take Your Time" is unshakable. Another example of the new lane Hunt was beginning to carve for himself and still one of our favorites.
3."House Party"
Bringing the party to your couch, "House Party" is a clap-a-long, cushion-jumping good time. A summer song that can thaw out anyone and Hunt's third stop at number one on the Country chart.
4."Break Up In A Small Town"
Not many sad songs slap like "Break Up In A Small Town." With a shade of Shawn Mullins and built like an anthem, the tune remains a stadium shaker and irresistible.
5."Body Like A Back Road"
It's been a few years since Hunt's debut, but this little thing happened on the way to his second album. "Body Like A Back Road" is a certified phenomenon, touching people across genre lines and becoming one of the biggest songs of 2017.
6."Kinfolks"
We love all of these classic Sam Hunt songs, but we really hope to hear what's next from the singer. "Kinfolks" has been our first taste of what's to come, and we're here for it. Mixing that signature Sam Hunt sound with new urgency and enthusiasm has us thinking 2020 is going to be a big one for Sam. Hoping to get a proper preview on Wednesday night.
