Country icon Alan Jackson is making his return after a six-year break following a series of tragic events in his family that left him lacking the spirit to make music for an extended period.

The 18-time ACM, 16-time CMA, 2-time GRAMMY-winning singer, and Country Music Hall of Famer took a bow from songwriting and releasing music after the death of his mother, known affectionately to family, friends, and fans as Mama Ruth in 2017 and the sudden passing of his daughter Mattie's 28-year-old husband Ben the following year.

Jackson is now opening up on his upcoming, sixteenth studio album Where Have You Gone, set for release on May 14. The title track, as well as the new songs "Things That Matter,” and “Way Down In My Whiskey” are available now.

Also featured on the new, 21 song release are tracks Jackson penned for his daughters' weddings, "I Do" and "You'll Always Be My Baby," plus the touching "Where Her Heart's Always Been," originally written for his mother's funeral -- which also includes a recording of Mama Ruth reading from the Bible -- and the previously released album closer "The Older I Get."

Here's the full Where Have You Gone tracklist:

Fans will be eager to hear his first new offering since 2015's Angels and Alcohol as the multi-Platinum selling artist is still able to draw massive crowds, even in the age of COVID. Last summer, Jackson held a series of socially distant outdoor concerts which drew upwards of 12,000 attendees in Alabama.
