It's been a long time in the making -- but there seems to be a light at the end of the postponed wedding tunnel for Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani.
Gwen had already waited what felt like forever to her for Blake to finally propose back in October of 2020, knowing then that the couple would not be able to have a proper celebration due to the pandemic. Apparently there have been further discussions, and Blake told Hoda Kotb yesterday during a surprise visit on the Today show’s 'Hoda & Jenna' segment about their updated plans.

Blake admitted that before he and Gwen get "sucked back in" to the grind of The Voice, they would like to set a date to finally wed sooner rather than later. "Hopefully this summer," said Blake. "I think we’re right here at the point with COVID, it looks like it might be OK, but I don’t know so that’s tentatively the plan. We'll see."
Blake continued, "I'm afraid if she and I wait until next November, then I'm right back into 'The Voice' cycle again. And I really want to be able to have plenty of time before and after."

Blake also touched on the numerous offers the couple have received from fellow superstars who would like to be the couple's entertainment for their big day. "You know, it's starting to sound like a Coachella lineup here all of a sudden. I've got all these superstars saying they're going to do it," he laughed. "I hope so, I don't know. I'm telling you, I'm not just saying this because it's the line, it’s -- we really don't know."
“I'd love to be able to take everybody up on their offer and have this amazing concert wedding," Blake explained. "But we're just waiting every day, just like everybody else, to see what our summer is going to look like and then go from there."
In other news, Blake Shelton just dropped news about his upcoming 12th studio album, Body Language, being set for release on May 12.
"I'm very proud of what we have put together," he said on his social channels earlier this week, "and can’t wait for y’all to hear this album!!!"
