First, in 2019, Cardi B became the first solo female rapper to win Best Rap Album at the GRAMMYs. Now, her 2017 single is officially certified Diamond by the RIAA and has made history by being the first single by a female rapper to ever reach such a monumental feat. Lauryn Hill's debut LP, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, recently became the first Diamond-certified album by a female rapper.

Funny enough, before the Bronx native could make the official announcement, her fans already knew. After a long day of rehearsing for her upcoming GRAMMY performance, Cardi took to Twitter to, cryptically, announce that she received this “crazy surprise” that wouldn’t have been possible without her fans, but you know fans couldn’t sit on news this massive. The Invasion of Privacy rapper couldn't even believe that her fans "be knowing eerrthang!"

It was also announced that the 2020’s dynamic song of the summer, “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion is now certified 5x Platinum. According to the press release, ““WAP” marked Cardi’s fourth #1 single in the US, extending her record as the female rapper with the most #1 singles in “Hot 100” history and affirming her as the only female rapper to have reach #1 on the “Hot 100” in two different decades.” The single also had “the largest opening streaming week for a song in US chart history with 93 million streams” and was the first female rap collaboration to debut No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Not to mention that all of the tracks on Invasion of Privacy, Cardi's debut album, are RIAA-certified Gold or higher.

With all these historic moments on the horizon, fans are eagerly awaiting Cardi’s sophomore LP. However, great things take time, as stated by the rapper in a recent sitdown with Mariah Carey.
