Like any true fan of Christmas, memories of the season go way back for Chris Young.
The “I’m Comin’ Over” singer shared his holiday experiences and traditions in an exclusive interview with RADIO.COM. We asked him what his very favorite Christmas memory was, and it’s something that still resonates today.
“Probably the first time I can remember as a kid decorating the tree with my family – my mom, my dad and little sister,” he said. “Just something incredibly special about that. It’s something we still do to this day together.”
Young is surely in the holiday spirit this year, sending out holiday greetings to his fans and sharing a picture of his Christmas tree.
Like with many of us, the tree isn’t the only decoration that goes up this time of year. Young filled us in on the craziest decoration he’s bought.
“I decorate my parents’ yard every year so I kind of go over the top a little bit and I had a reindeer that was about twice the size me,” he said. “I’m 6’4” 250 pounds, so that’s a very large inflatable reindeer that lights up in your front yard. I think they love that.”
As for his favorite Christmas song? Well, that’s exactly it.
“One of my favorite Christmas songs is actually ‘The Christmas Song,’ he revealed. “There’s been so many amazing versions of that and I love every single one of them. It’s just one of my favorite things to sing along to.”
