Late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton will be celebrated on what would have been his 59th birthday this year, with a special Twitch live stream on Wednesday, February 10, at 10PM ET/7PM PT.
Officially dubbed "Cliff Burton Day" by Alameda County supervisors in California in 2018, this year the late musician will be feted by fans and musicians virtually due to health and social distancing restrictions.

"Join us for Cliff Burton Day 2021! February 10 @ 7 PM PST," a post on the Cliff Burton Family Facebook page reads. "Hear live interviews with our special guests. The show will be available at a later date on YouTube for those of you in a different time zone." You'll notice Ray Burton, Cliff's father, is also pictured on the family page. Acting as the keeper of his son's legacy over the decades, Ray passed away at the age of 94 earlier this year.
Cliff Burton, whose life was cut short at the age of 24 in a bus accident while on tour in Sweden in 1986, performed on Metallica's first three studio albums -- Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning, and Master Of Puppets -- with the first of the three featuring the blistering bass solo "(Anesthesia)-Pulling Teeth" that has since been covered and copied countless times. Burton also co-wrote classic 'Tallica tracks like "Ride The Lightning," "For Whom The Bell Tolls," "Fade To Black," "Creeping Death," and "Master Of Puppets."
Fans can take part in the virtual festivities on Wednesday, February 10 at 10PM ET / 7PM PT at Twitch.tv/GomezGrip.
