This past week Dierks Bentley blessed our airwaves as co-host for the Superstar Power Hour on all your favorite RADIO.COM Country stations nationwide.

Having that much talk time with the Country superstar, RADIO.COM's Katie Neal was able to get us some inside scoop. Besides doing a whole lotta camping in 2020, including biking, hiking, fishing, and just “enjoying the great outdoors,” Dierks has been in the studio working on his next chapter of music. And while he didn’t divulge much, he did give us a bit of insight about what we can expect, or rather what not too.

Dierks admitted, “I’m just trying to find inspiration,” adding that he’s “been writing songs all summer,” and was particular excited about his newest single “Gone.”

It was important to Dierks not to write songs that were too centered around the pandemic, because while he does feel that “there’s a place for that in Country music,” for him “there’s also a place just to turn on your radio and kinda escape what’s going outside your car or outside your reality.” While the single does touch on the fact that right now “everything’s gone for a lot of us, especially in the music industry,” at the same time “the song is just a good jam.” Well Mr. Bentley, we’d have to agree.

Dierks also took a brief trip down memory lane, as his latest project will be his tenth studio album. Katie reminded Dierks that just ten years ago, “What Was I Thinkin’” was going number one, and asked him if back then he could have ever imagined being where he is today. Bentley, humbly and quite quickly responded, “no, I could never imagine having ten albums… I’m aways so thankful when I get to put an album out.” Admitting “it’s crazy to be able to do it for this long and have fans that are still interested after nine albums.” Summing it all up as “pretty cool.” Again, we’d have to agree.

Dierks and Katie went on to discuss their mutual longing for live music, and before Dierks answered some fan questions, Katie finally got an answer to one of her own, and got to find out who that Will Ferrell look a-like at all of Dierks' New York concerts is.

If all that hasn’t hooked you, we don’t know what else will. Watch the entire interview with Dierks Bentley above.

Tune in every week to the Superstar Power Hour with Katie & Company on your favorite RADIO.COM Country station.
