April Fool’s Day always brings out the pranksters and one of the most notorious locker room jokesters in recent memory is former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

But playing pranks on teammates means sometimes there’s retaliation.

In an interview with Yahoo! Sports’ Liz Loza of “The Rush,” Manning was asked if there was ever a time a prank backfired on him.

“I made the mistake of getting our punter, Jeff Feagles,” Manning said. “I can’t remember what I did — something very innocent, not too bad. After a late practice, I get to my car at 8 p.m. and all the air was let out of my tires and he left me a bike pump to basically pump up my tires just enough to get my car to a gas station. So, don’t mess with the special teams people.”

Manning, who retired after the 2019, is also getting the chance to spend more time with his kids now that he’s away from football, but he is also learning the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

“Unfortunately, my kids are kind of getting some of those pranks,” he said. “I was so proud earlier this fall. It was kind of a hot day and I was driving my daughter to school, and all of a sudden I was like, ‘It’s so hot in this car. I’m sweating,’ and it turned out she turned the heated seats on in my car. I was so proud — I was a little mad — but proud she has the prankster gene in her.”

The Mannings will be playing pranks on others for generations to come.
