NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Joe Biden made his first late-night TV appearance as president Friday night, albeit virtually.
Biden was Jimmy Fallon's guest on "The Tonight Show" Friday, with the president appearing on a large TV next to Fallon's desk at 30 Rock.

"Hey Jimmy, how are you, man?" Biden said as he popped up from a room decked out in holiday decorations.
Biden fielded light questions from Fallon, talking about his infrastructure bill, the Build Back Better plan and how it'll affect families and how life in the White House has been.
"We used to have the best infrastructure in the world ... highways, bridges, the whole works. And now we rank No. 13 in the world. And that has a lot to do with quality of life, it has a lot to do with whether or not if we're going to be competitive," said Biden. "The world is changing, and we're so far behind the curb."
Biden lamented not having "a single Republican vote" for his Build Back Better plan, while Fallon openly wondered why Democrats and GOP members couldn't be as cordial as he saw them at The Kennedy Center Honors the previous weekend.
"The truth is, before COVID hit, the Trump arm of the Republican party, which seems to be the Republican party now, did not even show up to the Kennedy Center," said Biden. "They wouldn't go to the awards."
The 46th president said "Republicans and Democrats used to get on well together," using the late Sen. Bob Dole as an example because he had asked Biden to do his eulogy for him.
"We disagreed but we were friends, we used have an awful lot of that relationship. And that still exists, except that QAnon and extreme elements of the Republican party and what Donald Trump keeps sort of feeding ... it makes it awful hard," Biden said.
Fallon agreed, saying Biden was "bringing class back to the office."
The former "SNL" cast member also talked about the difficulty of telling people to get vaccinated who haven't already. Biden's been in support of Fallon's efforts, even tweeting out his new song with Ariana Grande and Megan Thee Stallion.
The president sounded exhausted at the "politicization" of getting the COVID-19 vaccine, saying, "Making it a political statement, and if you get the shot then somehow you'll -- I don't know what the h- ... anyway," cutting himself off, earning a laugh from the crowd.
Biden's appearance came as his approval numbers continued to sink.
"How much do you pay attention to approval ratings?" said Fallon.
"Well ... not anymore," said Biden. "I'm joking." Biden responded saying his administration has only been in office for a year, and that people are getting inaccurate information about their situation.
"They're being told Armageddon is on the way," said Biden.
Biden had appeared on "The Tonight Show" before as vice president back in 2016. Donald Trump avoided the late-night TV circuit as president, but made an infamous appearance on Fallon as a candidate, where Trump allowed him to mess with his hair.
