For his first single of 2021 Machine Gun Kelly teamed up with with the popular yet mysterious YouTuber Corpse Husband, also known simply as Corpse. The track dubbed “DAYWALKER!” clocks in at just under two-and-a-half minutes and not gonna lie, it’s mad aggressive, but in a good way.

With an energetically hostile start to the song, MGK continues to,“keep breaking the mould,” as he put it to RADIO.COM's Nicole Alvarez during their DTS Sound Space interview on Sunday, March 7.
The single finds Kelly yell singing, “Punch that motherf***er in the face, you hated what he said, right? Beat his a**, leave him at the stoplight, I know you wanted change, but nobody’s around, so, kick him again while he’s on the ground, yo, I’ll never be the same.” Inserting an unexpected whisper for “I wanna know if I tell you a secret, will you keep it?” Then returning to his more forceful tone, “I need someone to blame, and I see somebody talkin’ with the mouth that’s full of teeth I wanna break.”
With its eerie, horror-themed melody layered under deep modulated lyrics at varying decibels, the track gives off violent rave vibes, that honestly we ain’t mad about. And assuming that it’s titled in reference to the iconic Marvel character Blade, is also hella lit.
Kelly’s musical agenda is pretty clear, as he revealed to Alvarez his intentions are to “p*** people off all over again.” Further explaining, “When I say, ‘Break the mould and p*** people off all over again’, I just mean make them think again; make them have a moment of like, ‘This artist is so polarizing [that] I have to tune in.'”
“Because I don’t want to be bored with an artist,” referencing Kanye West as “a great example of that.” "We all have moments of sitting at dinner tables talking about Kanye and being like, ’I didn’t like this!’ or, ’I loved this!’ or, ’Why is he doing that?!’” Point is… he’s being talked about.
In other related news, MGK recently announced that he’s turning his fourth album Hotel Diablo into a four piece graphic novel, getting his fans hype with some rather dark and twisty promo pics on Instagram.
It also looks like the Blonde Don will be staying busy this year spreading talented wings, as it was revealed in February, that he landed a role in a film titled One Way, which also features his daughter Casie Baker, as well as renowned actor Kevin Bacon.
