The Florida Georgia Line duo shared a lengthy video updating fans on their 2021 plans. For starters, and we just want to reiterate this, the duo has no intentions of breaking up. Kelley and Hubbard both explained their desire to begin making music on their own this this year.

“We want to make sure our truth is out there for you guys, and our genuine excitement in support of each other for the next chapter of our career, our music, our journey,” Hubbard said.

Kelley stated that the COVID-19 pandemic gave him time for “soul-searching” and offered a new perspective for what he wants out of his career in music.

"Me and you have had conversations three or four years ago, and this has kind of been a lifelong dream of mine,” Kelley said of writing solo material.

“But I kinda felt like I started writing an album once I started writing again in August and had a couple of songs that I started writing that I just felt like maybe I'm supposed to sing these and probably have a project, an outlet for these to come out on. We talked about that before, and just the timing wasn't right. All the dots weren't really connected, everything wasn't in line."

“Like BK said, timing is everything. You guys as our fans have changed our lives and we’re forever grateful,” Hubbard added. “In the meantime, it’s a beautiful place to be, to be able to venture out and have a voice of our own and have an individuality.”

FGL is getting set to release their fifth studio album Life Rolls On on February 12, a record that will include their new single “Long Live.”

While the duo is certainly excited about the album release, the next chapter of their careers presents a new opportunity for the band.

“I have a strong peace about the next journey, the next chapter,” Hubbard said.

“Just to clarify, FGL’s not breaking up. We’re just venturing out.”
