“Good morning, my neighbors!”
That’s what Francisco Lindor said when he showed up to the Mets’ spring training workout on Thursday, and his wardrobe matched his words, with the new Mets shortstop wearing a replica jacket from the movie “Coming to America,” where Eddie Murphy’s Prince Akeem proudly sports the Mets while on his getaway trip to the US.
All that was missing from Lindor’s outfit was the goofy New York hat.
Good timing from Lindor to break out the jacket, with the Coming to America sequel “Coming 2 America” set to release next month. For Mets fans who are getting ready to watch Lindor in blue and orange for the first time, they already hoping for a sequel and many more in the form of a long-term deal for the superstar shortstop.
