Jason and Brittany Aldean are mourning the loss of their beloved pet chameleon Elvis, after the reptile passed, Sunday.
Brittany jumped on Instagram to lay out the heartbreaking story of the family pet’s passing. "I did want to hop on here for a second and just let you guys know that Elvis is no longer with us," she sorrowfully stated. The chameleon was in the process of giving birth when medical complications arose.
"She ended up doing really bad last night after she laid her eggs. I knew something was off so long story short, we took her to the vet this morning and we ended up having to put her down." Brittany said. "One egg was still lodged in her so she was just not able to pass it, and apparently in their little bodies, it's just too much… The humane decision was just to put her to sleep today."

The family welcomed their scaly addition back in August with a social post of their youngest, Memphis Aldean Williams, inspecting the reptile with curiosity. “Welcome to the fam, Elvis! 🦎” Brittany captioned alongside the family snapshot.
During his short time with the Country music family, Elvis became an integral member who brought joy to everyone in the house. Brittany made that clear in her farewell story post. "I know it's just a chameleon but I get very attached to my animals," she ended the video. "Thank you guys so much for thinking about her. She's eating all the crickets in heaven right now."
