The New York Knicks are for real this year, and that makes close losses all the more difficult to stomach. Take Monday night's back-and-forth affair between the Knicks and their crosstown rivals, the Brooklyn Nets, for instance. Although James Harden left with an injury early and Kevin Durant remained sidelined as he nears his return, the Nets still boast a talented roster including Kyrie Irving, Joe Harris, LaMarcus Aldridge and more, and the Knicks fought tooth and nail the whole way through.

But New York came up just short. It certainly wasn't Julius Randle's fault, as he finished with his fourth triple-double of the season, giving him more in 2020-21 alone than any Knicks forward in history. And he almost had another clutch bucket at the end, which would have at least forced OT.

But again, that's what makes the loss so hard to stomach. And though the bulk of fans probably didn't cry about it, the bulk of fans also isn't composed of four-year-old who are as passionate as you possibly can be about the game. Kyden Randle, however, fits that latter description to a T.

Does Kyden hate Kyrie Irving and company that much? Or does he hate "those," as in the Nets' black uniforms? Maybe it's a combination of the two, but whatever the case, it's an adorably sad video that shows just how much he wants pops to succeed.

Randle has posted several pictures of himself with his wife, Kendra, and Kyden on social media, and the Randle family looks as happy as ever — save for those few tears shed (no) thanks to those darn Nets.

And if any players on the Nets want to play basketball on the same court as Kyden — whether they're teammates or not — they better watch their backs.
