Justin Jefferson ain’t no diva.

The Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver was setting the record straight after Sunday’s 33-27 loss to the Bears, in which Jefferson went viral after field mics picked him up cursing out quarterback Kirk Cousins.

It happened in the second quarter when Cousins rolled to his left and fired a pass out of Jefferson’s reach in the back of the end zone.

“F—k, Kirk! Come on. Throw the ball,” he appears to be saying. It appeared Jefferson was taking more of an issue with the timing of Cousins toss than the accuracy.

Jefferson saw this clip making the rounds and responded on Twitter, “Y’all love blowing stuff out of proportion. And I ain’t no diva don’t get it twisted.”

The Vikings even retweeted Jefferson from the team’s official account.

Jefferson has been a breakout star for the Vikings and is in the conversation for Rookie of the Year. The wide receiver even broke the franchise record for receptions by a rookie on Sunday with his 70th catch of the season, breaking the previous record held by a guy named Randy Moss.

There has not been any indication that Jefferson is a diva, and surely this kind of competitive language happens more often than we realize during the course of an NFL game. Usually there are fans in the stands to drown out what we hear on the field.

Of course, Cousins is an easy target for fans, so naturally, Jefferson’s clip went viral – whether there was malicious intent in his words or just frustration in the heat of the moment.
