We're getting closer and closer to the big night -- and now we know who will be hosting this year's Academy of Country Music Awards!

After teasing fans yesterday with a clip listing off many of Country music's biggest names as possible contenders, the announcement arrives with last year's host Keith Urban ringing up 2020 breakout singer and new mom Mickey Guyton to ask if she would join him as co-host during the 2021 ceremony.

This marks the second year in a row that Urban has been the master of ceremonies at the ACMs, while this will be Guyton’s first time performing hosting duties. Fans will remember Mickey's 2020 ACMs rendition of her song “What Are You Gonna Tell Her?” which featured Urban as surprise guest on piano, so this is a perfect extension of the pair's collaborative prowess.

"I’m beyond thrilled to be co-hosting with my friend Mickey,” says Urban. “I love that finally everyone will get to see her infectious energy and uber creative spirit in full light."

“Last year I had the opportunity to perform at the Academy of Country Music Awards with someone I long admired, Keith Urban, and this year I am incredibly excited to share hosting duties with him,” said Guyton. “As I’ve said before ‘if you can see it, you can be it,’ and it’s such an honor to step onto the ACM stage as the first ever Black woman to host the show. Over the years, the Academy of Country Music has always been a home for me through opportunities both onstage and throughout their work on diversity and inclusion. This is a moment of great significance for me and I am so thrilled to share it with all the fans.”

Urban, already a fifteen-time ACM winner, is a double nominee in the Music Event of the Year category for his single with P!nk, “One Too Many,” as well as his collaboration with Thomas Rhett, Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott, and Chris Tomlin on “Be A Light” during this year's celebration. Guyton is also up for an award this year, New Female Artist of the Year, alongside Ingrid Andress, Tenille Arts, Gabby Barrett, and Caylee Hammack.

The 56th annual ACMs celebration will be live on CBS on Sunday, April 18 at 8PM ET / 7PM CT once again from Music City, bringing fans into some of Nashville’s iconic Country venues -- including the Grand Ole Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium, and the Bluebird Cafe -- for a second consecutive year amid social distancing guidelines.
