Super Bowl LV could very well be the passing of the torch from one GOAT to another between Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes.

As far as Le’Veon Bell is concerned, Mahomes may already be able to lay stake to that claim.

On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs running back said that he did not totally appreciate Mahomes until he was traded to the team this season and got to see the quarterback day in and day out.

“I’ve always watching him. I always thought he was a great player. Then I came here … that’s when it really hit me, like oh, he might be the greatest player ever,” Bell said, per ProFootballTalk. “It’s the way he practices, how he goes about his business. … I wish y’all could see the throws he does in practice; it would be unbelievable.

“But my idea of [him], I thought he was like a 10 before I came here. And now I think he’s probably like a 12. That’s about it.”

Mahomes has the chance to become the youngest quarterback to win two Super Bowls at age 25, a record that is currently held by – yep, you guessed it – Brady, who accomplished the feat at age 26.

While it seems like everyone wants Mahomes to be the next Brady, he still has a long way to go in catching the 43-year-old and establishing himself as the greatest of all time. Mahomes himself said he isn’t even thinking about that yet.

A win on Sunday, though, and the GOAT conversation will only get louder.
