The rapper appeared on the latest episode of Arts & Raps to paint a self portrait and answer every burning questions from two kids and the exchange is just as hilarious, intense and insightful as you would think. As soon as the video begins, Lil Nas X was asked, "what does it mean to come out of the closet?" And without missing a beat, he replies, "it means you're like 'hey everybody. I'm this thing and you guys didn't even know that, but now you know.'"
As a followup question, Zaria, the young girl asks, "why are people in the closet in the first place?" To which the rapper expresses, "back to that thing I said earlier about what we think about and what other people think about us, once we tell somebody we're 'this thing or that thing,' their mind shifts completely and it doesn't matter how close you are to them."
Dylan, the young boy, then, explains his own "closet story." His older cousin often pushes his brother into the closet and as a prank, they would flicker the lights and close the door. However, the brother "swore he saw something." Hilariously, the "Old Town Road" rapper responds, "that's exactly what happened to me. That's exactly what I meant when I was coming out of the closet."
