KANSAS CITY -  Mayor Quinton Lucas joined Kansas City’s Morning News today, where he spoke about the murder of a local firefighter/paramedic.

Lucas says the city will use the death of Graham Hoffman, 29, to learn more about how this happened and to make sure that it doesn’t happen again.

You can listen to the full interview here:

The suspect, Shanetta Bossell, stabbed Hoffman in the heart while she was being transported to a hospital. She's charged with first degree murder.

Bossell is due in court this afternoon for a bond reduction hearing. She was out on bond for a previous assault on a police officer at the time of the killing.

Lucas also talked about efforts in the city against predatory towing, and about the $14-million settlement that the city has to pay to a man wrongfully convicted of a double murder.

Mayor Lucas joins Wink & Amy on Kansas City’s Morning News live every Monday morning at 7:30 on 98.1 fm. You can also listen at KMBZ.com or by finding KMBZ on the free Audacy App.
