KANSAS CITY – Criminal charges are pending against two suspects after a road rage incident in Prairie Village led to gunfire.
Police say the incident happened just before 8:30 Tuesday night in the 1900 block of W 75th street, when a motorcycle with two people pulled up next to a vehicle at a red light.
The passenger on the motorcycle then opened the driver’s side door of the vehicle, but the driver was able to pull it shut and drive away. That’s when police say one suspect pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at the victim as they drove away. The victim was not hit.
The suspects fled the scene, but were apprehended by Kansas City, Missouri, police after an accident. Both suspects were taken to the hospital and will be held in custody after their treatment pending formal charges.
