Kansas City, MO - Apparently, the last time Santa visited the KC Metro he lost a number of candy canes flying back north and children are being enlisted to go on a quest to help Santa find the missing candy canes.
The Smithville Parks and Rec Department are putting on its second "Candy Cane Quest" on Friday evening at 5:30pm at Heritage Fields.
"Last year we had 700 candy canes. This year we will have well over 1,000," said Brittanie Propes, recreation and marketing director for the city of Smithville.

The event is free. It'll be dark, so everyone is encouraged to bring a flashlight to find the candy canes and some gift cards as well.
