Head-on crash kills 4 in Dickinson County, Kansas

KANSAS CITY - A head-on crash in Dickinson County killed four people and injured another four.

It happened around 3 p.m. Saturday on K-4 in the western part of the county.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says an eastbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck another vehicle travelling west.

The victims in the eastbound vehicle were 8-year-old Nathaniel Haney of Herington, 71-year-old Peggy Sutton of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and the driver, 30-year-old Dawn Peel of Herington. A 6-year-old boy suffered minor injuries.

57-year-old Denise Henely, of Herington, was killed in the westbound vehicle while its driver, 23-year-old Adam Henely of Salina, had minor injuries. A 14-year-old passenger was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for serious injuries, while a 20-year-old man suffered minor injuries.

The KHP says all occupants were wearing their seatbelts. The crash remains under investigation.
