KANSAS CITY - A verbal state of disaster emergency for Kansas counties impacted by flooding has been issued by the governor's office.
On Monday, several counties west of Salina experienced heavy rainfall that produced over a foot of rain.
Areas in south central Kansas are also included.
The Kansas Division of Emergency Management has partially activated the State Emergency Operations Center in Topeka to monitor the flooding and assist counties with any potential need.
