KANSAS CITY — A head-on crash on Highway 169 near Virginia Road in southern Franklin County, Kansas, has killed eight people and injured one.
The collision, which happened around 5:45 Sunday evening about an hour southwest of Kansas City, caused both vehicles to catch fire.
The highway was closed until 3 a.m. Monday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is still investigating and are notifying families before releasing names of the victims.
