KANSAS CITY –  The Hereford House restaurant in Zona Rosa has closed its doors for good.

The closure of the Hereford House in Zona Rosa comes seven months after it closed its Leawood location, after a former kitchen worker admitted he contaminated food with his body parts.

Jace Hanson is charged with 22 counts of criminal threat and one count of criminal damage. The investigation also led to 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a child to be filed against Hanson.

Several customers said they got sick after eating at the Leawood location and that led to more than a dozen lawsuits being filed against the restaurant.

The owners are reminding customers that they have two locations remaining in Shawnee and in Independence.

In other local restaurant news, the Salty Iguana has closed all its locations as it faces over $200,000 in unpaid taxes.
