KANSAS CITY - St. Louis Police Officer Nathan Spiess has had a third surgery. The department says it was successful and he is resting.
Spiess is the officer hit by a car last week while chasing a carjacking suspect on I-70. The man who struck him left the scene, but was eventually arrested.
The department says Officer Spiess will soon be discharged from the hospital and be transported to a private location to continue his recovery.
