Kansas City, KS – State representative Aaron Coleman is no longer eligible for diversion, claims the Johnson County District Attorney's office.

The Wyandotte County state lawmaker is facing a charge of domestic battery in JOCO for an October fight with his brother.

JOCO Assistant District Attorney Samantha Shannon said in a Zoom hearing on Wednesday that Coleman, 21, lost the possibility of a diversion plea after his second arrest in a month's time for suspicion of drunk driving.

Coleman’s attorney, David Bell, said he didn’t know what had changed to prevent diversion.

A hearing is set for Jan. 7.
