KANSAS CITY – Kansas and Missouri are among the states where kids drink the most soda.
A group out of Pennsylvania that does continuing education compiled the list of how much soda kids consume in each state, based on CDC data dating back to 2021.
Missouri ranks 15th highest in the nation for consumption, with about 15% of kids drinking one soda a day and 10-percent drinking more. About 25% of Missouri kids do not drink a soda daily.
Kansas is just a bit better than at #16, with 1 in 5 kids having a soda a day and 10% having two or more, while 27% do not drink soda daily.
The states with the highest soda consumption among kids are all in the South, with West Virginia atop the list followed by Kentucky, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Alabama.
