
KANSAS CITY — Two new studies out show that Kansas City is one of the most dangerous cities in the nation, and also one of the dirtiest.
Dangerous
A recent study found that Kansas City is dangerous…in fact, the city is listed as the 8th most dangerous in the country.
A new listing from U.S. News & World Report ranks Kansas City as the 8th most dangerous in the country, based on murder rates and property crime per capita.
The city had 144 homicides last year. The number so far this year is already over 80.
St. Louis is ranked as the 2nd overall most dangerous with Springfield at number 14th. The most dangerous city in the U.S. is Memphis, Tennessee.
Dirty
Another study that was just released, from House Fresh, ranks Kansas City as the 8th dirtiest in the country.
The ranking were based on the number of 311 complaints about drinking water, sewage disposal, littered streets, and missed garbage pickups.
Baltimore topped the list, followed by Sacramento, Charlotte, Los Angeles, and Memphis.
Kansas City had just over 8,800 complaints, compared to 47,000 in Baltimore.
