Kansas City, MO – The staff at Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City were very much into the Olympic spirit recently, presenting all of the newborn babies in their care with tiny, hand-crocheted Olympian outfits and gold medals.
Nurse Stephanie Peterson hand-made about 20 gold medals for the infants in order to celebrate "how amazing they are for coming into this world," according to Good News Network.
"Delivering during COVID is hard, and it’s nice to be celebrated. Everybody wants to win a gold medal," Peterson said.
The newborns' parents were invited to cheer on their little Olympian in a special "opening ceremony" and photoshoot. And, yes, they got to take the cute little Team USA outfits home with them as keepsakes.
