Kansas City, MO – Mayor Quinton Lucas announced the city’s outdoor mask mandate will expire at 12:01am this Friday, April 30, and spelled out new details under an update to the city's coronavirus emergency orders.
As reported by KMBC-9, the new order announced Monday will allow all business facilities – including restaurants and taverns – to operate at full capacity, provided mask guidelines are followed, beginning early Friday.
Under the updated order, masks are no longer required outdoors, or in private indoor spaces where social distancing of at least 6 feet can be maintained.
Lucas said masks will still be required in indoor spaces unless it can be confirmed that everyone in the room has been fully vaccinated -- which would mostly apply to workplaces.
