Kansas City to host matches for Copa America 2024, US Men to play at Arrowhead

KANSAS CITY – It’ll be a little taste of what the World Cup may be like in 2026. Two stadiums in the KC Metro chosen as venues for two matches in the Copa America 2024.

Arrowhead Stadium in KC and Children's Mercy Park in KCK, along with 12 other stadiums across the US, chosen to host games for the 2024 Copa America in the summer, COMNEBOL announced Monday.

Of the 14 sites to host one of the largest continental tournaments in international soccer, seven of them, including Arrowhead Stadium, are also set to be sites for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The US Men's National Team will play a match in Kansas City during the tournament. While the official group draw isn't until Dec. 7, the US is already designated as the first team in Group C. They will visit Kansas City on July 1st to take on whichever team is designated as the second team in Group C.

Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas, meanwhile will host the teams designated as the second and fourth in Group A, who group will have the defending Copa America and current World Cup winner Argentina.
