Kansas City, MO – The first real snowstorm of the season could blanket the KC Metro this New Year's weekend. The exact track of the coming storm, and how much snow will fall, is still being worked out by meteorologists.

“If the snow is coming down, then people will be coming down to get things like snow shovels and ice melt, when they should have got it before hand,” said Leroy Andrews, general manager at Strasser Hardware in KCK.

Andrews has worked at the store for 50 years and has seen a few snowstorms. He said there is usually a last minute rush on supplies like shovels and ice melt. And despite supply shortages elsewhere, he says they're fully stocked for now.

“True Value has a warehouse here in Kansas City, so we are able to get stuff and supplies,” added Andrews.

Andrews said once they sell out, they could get more items but things could also be delayed depending on the weather elsewhere in the country.
